Originating in Scandinavian folklore, the kraken is usually depicted as an aggressive cephalopod-like creature capable of destroying entire ships and dragging sailors to their unescapable doom. The kraken, colossal in size, looms ominously over the ship, its monstrous form twisting and writhing with power. Each tentacle is intricately detailed, curling and coiling around the vessel with a sense of primal aggression. The use of blues and pinks in the painting adds depth and dimension to the composition, with varying shades of these colours creating a sense of movement and energy within the artwork. This design took a mammoth 20 hours in total, the design was hand drawn on to the deck before each detail was carefully painted on.
